Long Beach Celtic Music Festival-by-the-Sea -- Long Beach

Sawdust Art Festival -- Orange County
Although this festival is located in neighboring Orange County, it does warrant mention here. Several hundred artisans and crafts people showcase their works in an original environment of hand-built booths, strolling entertainment and free art and craft lessons for children. Shakespeare by the Sea -- Torrance (Wilson Park Gazebo), Wilmington (Banning Park - Banning Museum), Los Angeles (Cheviot Hills Park), Hermosa Beach (Valley Park), Newport Beach (Grant Howald Park), San Pedro (Point Fermin Park).
Outdoor summer performances of a selected play by Shakespeare. Free to the public. Bring a picnic basket.

Summer Nights at the Ford (Hollywood) -- John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, Los Angeles

Taste of San Pedro -- San Pedro (Point Fermin Park, 807 West Paseo Del Mar)

Block Party and Arts Festival -- San Pedro (1003 South Beacon Street)
A San Pedro tradition for eighteen years celebrating music, food, and interactive arts activities in a fun environment for the entire family. Information: (310) 514-4940

Festival Tropical (Latin Tropical Music Street Festival) -- Hollywood
In the heart of Hollywood, families from Mexico, the Caribbean, and all the Americas converge to enjoy free live performances of Salsa, Cumbia and Merengue. Information: (323) 962-4735

Nisei Week Japanese Festival -- Los Angeles (Little Tokyo)
L.A.'s oldest ethnic festival celebrates traditional and contemporary Japanese American cultural heritage. Folk dancing, bands, exhibits, carnivals, art exhibits and parades. Information: (213) 687-7193

Children’s Festival of the Arts -- Los Angeles

L.A. Greek Fest -- Los Angeles (1324 S. Normandy Avenue at Pico)
The L.A. Greek Fest is held on the Grand Plaza of the St. Sophia Cathedral located in the Byzantine Latino Quarter of Los Angeles. This event is L.A.ís premier Greek Festival featuring the best of Greek foods, pastries, music, and folk dancing along with exotic gifts and arts and craft booths, making this festival a trip to Greece without the travel. Watts Summer Festival -- Los Angeles

Marcus Garvey Day Celebration -- Los Angeles
This festival celebrates the life of Marcus Garvey. The event includes a libation ceremony, African dancers and drummers, film presentation, entertainment, delicious food, African clothing, and handcrafted jewelry. Information: (323) 929-5550

Marcus Garvey Day Parade and Festival -- Los Angeles (The Elegant Manor, 3115 W Adams Blvd)
This is an annual celebration of the birth, life, and philosophies of Marcus Mosiah Garvey who united over eight million Africans worldwide in the 1920s. This is a grassroots community event that invites all to celebrate "Africa for the Africans at home or Abroad" with many speakers, performers, exhibits, a parade, and a festival. Los Angeles African Marketplace and Cultural Faire -- Los Angeles

Kidsfaire -- Pomona (Los Angeles County Fairplex)
California's largest children's and family event, featuring more than 350 interactive exhibits, fun family booths and non-stop children's entertainment. Special exhibits include the Family Adventure Zone, Puppet Shows, Magicians, Jugglers, Rides, and Arts and Crafts. Visit Safari-Town, watch cheetahs and meet other jungle creatures, favorite farm animals, petting zoos and pony rides. Fiesta La Ballona Weekend Fair -- Culver City (Veteran's Park, 4100 Overland Ave)

Venice Showcase Festival -- Venice (Venice Beach Recreation Center, 1800 Ocean Front Walk)
From unusual street performances to artists and artisans, to bodybuilders pumping iron at the world famous Muscle Beach, to talented skateboarders and rollerbladers demonstrating their aerial prowess, all that makes Venice unique will be featured. Fiesta de San Gabriel -- San Gabriel (San Gabriel Mission, 428 S Mission Dr)
This three-day fiesta celebrates the founding of the San Gabriel Mission in 1771. It is the oldest festival in Los Angeles County. Thousands of people attend the fiesta to enjoy a variety of festivities including rides, games, international food, and prizes. E Hula Mau - Southern California's Annual Hula & Chant Competition -- Long Beach (Performing Arts Center - Terrace Theater)

Harvest Festival -- Long Beach (Convention Center)

Long Beach Blues Festival --  Long Beach (Cal State Long Beach)
