The lowest dry-land point in Los Angeles County is 13 feet below sea level in Long Beach. The location is in the northeast corner of the Long Beach half of Terminal Island. The site is a large open transportation and storage yard, with the exact lowest point just north of an adjacent power generation station and the Long Beach International Gateway bridge. Those passing by on the bridge overhead typically would not take note of the site as anything more than another shipping container storage yard.
