The Los Angeles County Arboretum introduces for the first time this holiday season a new delight: Moonlight Forest – Magical Lantern Art Festival.
Along a one-mile course through the gardens are more than 60 Chinese lantern artworks depicting exotic and local (and prehistoric) wildlife, flowers, dragons, temples, marine life, Chinese culture and other things. Visitors will also enjoy a wonderful live performance of talented Chinese acrobats, jugglers and dancers. The festival also offers a variety of food vendors on-site.
Along the path of the exhibit, visitors can visit the portico of the famous Queen Anne Cottage at the center of the Arboretum, decorated and lit for holidays. From the rear porch, you will see across the pond on the other shore the incredibly beautiful 70-foot long and 30-foot high Chinese dragon installation. The giant dragon appears to be moving across the water and its reflection makes the sight even more impressive.
The festival is a partnership between the Arboretum and Tianyu Arts & Culture, Inc., a company that brings Chinese folk culture and entertainment festivals to cities around the world.
If tickets are sold-out for the date you want, use a ride-sharing app such as Lyft or Uber to get to the Arboretum and your ride receipt (showing that date and time) allows you to purchase up to four tickets at the box-office.
